Nicole Eshelman M.S.W., L.C.S.W.

Clinical Therapist and Supervisor

As a licensed clinician specializing in the assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in adults, I offer comprehensive, affirming diagnostic evaluations designed to uncover the root causes of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral challenges. My approach integrates structured clinical tools with a compassionate understanding of everyone’s unique neurodevelopmental profile.

I utilize evidence-based instruments including the MIGDAS-2 for Autism. This is a qualitative, sensory-based approach, involving interviews with individuals to gather information in key developmental areas affected by ASD, such as language, communication, social relationships, emotional responses, sensory use, and interests. The SRS-2, or Social Responsiveness Scale, Second Edition, is a standardized questionnaire used to assess social skills and identify the presence and severity of social impairment associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The Brown Executive Function/Attention Scales (Brown EFA) a well-validated measure for understanding how ADHD-related executive functioning difficulties impact daily life. The Brown EFA helps assess key areas such as activation, focus, effort, emotion regulation, memory, and action, all of which are essential in diagnosing ADHD in a nuanced, accurate way.

Each evaluation is tailored to differentiate between ADHD, Autism, and other overlapping or co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), or substance-induced concerns. The goal is not only to identify a diagnosis, but also to tease apart complex symptoms, provide insight, and develop clear next steps for support.

My assessments are grounded in a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed lens, ensuring you feel seen, respected, and understood throughout the process. I recognize that for many adults, seeking a diagnosis comes after years of feeling misunderstood or misdiagnosed. It’s a vulnerable step, and one that I hold with care and integrity.

Whether you are exploring neurodivergence for the first time or reevaluating an existing diagnosis, I’m here to help you gain clarity and confidence in understanding how your brain works, and what you need to thrive.
