Autism Assessment

At Schell Therapy, we offer a 5-session telehealth assessment designed to provide clarity, support, and a path forward. Our approach integrates both diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic support, ensuring that you feel heard, validated, and empowered throughout the process.

What to Expect in Your 5 Telehealth Sessions

Session 1: Initial Assessment & Goal Setting

  • Identify the client’s assessment and non-assessment goals.

  • Collect background information and relevant history.

  • Review family background and life history of the client.

  • Examine any other relevant documents provided by the client.

  • Explain the assessment process in detail.

Session 2: Administration of MIGDAS-2

  • Begin the administration of the MIGDAS-2 (Autism Spectrum Disorder Diagnostic Tool).

  • Continue gathering information and insights.

Session 3: Complete MIGDAS-2 & Introduce SRS-2

  • Finish and complete the MIGDAS-2 assessment.

  • Introduce the SRS-2 (Social Responsiveness Scale-2) to the client.

  • Explain the purpose of the SRS-2 and how it helps in the diagnostic process.

  • Additional Screenings: Depending on your particular situation, you may also be invited to complete other screening questionnaires such as the AQ (Autism Spectrum Quotient), EQ (Empathy Quotient), RAADS-14 (Ritvo Autism Asperger Diagnostic Scale), and/or CAT-Q (Cambridge Depersonalization Scale).

Session 4: Results Review & Diagnostic Criteria

  • Review the results of the SRS-2.

  • Discuss how the results align with DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria, focusing on social communication, interaction, and restricted/repetitive behaviors.

Session 5: Diagnosis & Path Forward

  • Share the diagnosis or rule out other potential diagnoses.

  • Discuss the therapy path forward, including the next steps and recommendations.

Integrated Therapy & Support

Our approach is unique—therapeutic support is incorporated into each session. Whether or not a diagnosis is given, our team is equally focused on your mental well-being and helping you navigate your next steps with confidence.

In-Depth Report (Optional)
An in-depth written report is available for an additional charge. This report will summarize the findings and the diagnostic process.
