Caylin Jenkins M.S.W., L.S.W.
Clinical Therapist
As a compassionate mental health therapist, I offer tailored support for both individuals and couples, focusing on a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges.
Individual Therapy
I specialize in helping individuals manage:
Depression, anxiety, and stress: I provide guidance and coping strategies to help you navigate these challenges and improve your emotional well-being.
Domestic violence and toxic relationships: I offer support to those dealing with the impact of abusive or toxic relationships, helping you regain control and heal.
Eating disorders and body image concerns: I create a non-judgmental environment where you can explore and address issues related to food, body image, and self-esteem.
Substance abuse in family or friends: I help those affected by a loved one’s substance abuse, offering support as you navigate the emotional toll of these relationships.
Childhood trauma: I work with you to recognize and heal from patterns that may have developed in childhood, helping you understand how early experiences shape your current behaviors and relationships.
Couples Therapy
I use a combination of Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to support couples through various relationship struggles.
Gottman Method focuses on improving communication and resolving conflicts by building stronger emotional connections and teaching effective problem-solving techniques. This method helps couples recognize patterns of behavior that damage the relationship, such as defensiveness, stonewalling, and criticism. It’s particularly helpful for couples experiencing:
High-conflict relationships: When arguments and disagreements dominate the relationship, I help couples break the cycle of conflict and create a healthier, more understanding connection.
Low-conflict or "roommate" dynamics: Some couples struggle with emotional distance or feel like they are simply coexisting. I work with these couples to rebuild intimacy, strengthen emotional bonds, and reinvigorate the relationship.
Parenting issues: I help couples navigate the stress of parenting, addressing conflicts over roles, discipline styles, and balancing relationship needs with parenting responsibilities.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) helps couples understand and express their underlying emotions in a safe and structured way. This method is particularly effective for:
Attachment issues: I help couples explore how attachment styles impact their interactions and develop healthier ways to connect emotionally.
Building emotional intimacy: EFT focuses on strengthening emotional bonds by helping partners understand each other’s deeper needs and feelings, fostering trust and security.
Common Areas Couples May Struggle With:
High-conflict relationships: Constant arguing, unresolved issues, and emotional tension.
Low-conflict or "roommate" relationships: Emotional disconnection or feeling like roommates rather than partners.
Parenting challenges: Disagreements over child-rearing, role expectations, or balancing parenting and relationship needs.
Communication problems: Struggling to express feelings, listen effectively, or resolve disagreements.
Trust and infidelity issues: Rebuilding trust after betrayal or strengthening trust in everyday interactions.
